The Board of Fruit West Co-operative Ltd (Fruit West), holder of the marketing rights to Australian grown Bravo™ apples, is inviting proven operators in the apple industry to pitch for the following Licences:


Applicants should demonstrate, as a minimum, their capability & capacity in regard to:

  • Handling localised commercial and boutique volumes expected to be harvested in 2017
  • Proximity to licensed ANABP 01 growers
  • Grading, sorting, and quality management including maturity testing, to specified variety standards
  • Relationship with apple marketers
  • Grading and packing to strict quality specifications
  • Storing fruit in air or CA at 1ºC
  • Handling off-specification fruit as directed by Fruit West as the Licensor
  • Weekly reporting of ANABP 01/Bravo™ pack house activity to Fruit West as the Licensor
  • Prompt and clear pack out reporting to growers
  • Audited pack house compliance to allow access to Australian and export markets
  • Delivering value for money services to growers, the Licensed Marketer and the Licensor.


Applicants should demonstrate, as a minimum, their capability & capacity in regard to:

  • Developing and working to an agreed strategic value based national marketing plan
  • Marketing of branded fruit and building and protecting brand value
  • Servicing premium upper-end retail outlets Australia-wide
  • Relationships with packers Australia-wide and ability to manage delivery logistics for expected localised commercial and boutique volumes of Bravo™ in 2017 and beyond
  • Delivering innovative ways to maximise the placement and value of all harvested fruit
  • Supporting growers at orchard level with RD&E technical and marketing information
  • Data collection, analysis, storage and retrieval using CRM technology
  • Guaranteeing prompt payment to growers
  • Weekly KPI reporting of Bravo™ marketing activity to Fruit West as the Licensor
  • Engaging with all ANABP 01 stakeholders to deliver community and industry benefits.


Fruit West will short-list applications with a view to negotiating an agreement under a reciprocal Confidentially Agreement. Fruit West reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and is not at any time, precluded from negotiating with other parties.
