Big turn-out at vegetablesWA workshop in Geraldton

By April 17, 2019 No Comments

Geraldton and Mid West vegetables growers turned out in force at a vegetablesWA and AUSVEG agrichemical workshop recently.

The region is home to more than 20 vegetable growers.

The workshop was translated for local Vietnamese growers and provided practical tips and information about managing crops and pest problems.

vegetablesWA Operations Manager Rebecca Blackman said the workshop was well-attended.

“Events like these allow growers to expand their knowledge and skill-up on the latest science, as well as get together and share their experiences,” Ms Blackman said.

“We run dozens of events like this throughout the year to ensure our growers are at the forefront of the industry and continue to put the very best food on West Australian tables.”

The workshop is the most recent in a series of workshops run by vegetables WA across the areas of biosecurity, agrichemicals, Freshcare, food safety and crop management.

vegetablesWA staff travel right around the state each year to provide education and share the latest industry updates with growers.
