Development programs to support WA agrifood businesses

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is pleased to offer a suite of complimentary development programs to support WA agrifood businesses’ export and business growth plans.

These programs are delivered in partnership with the Export Council of Australia and the Australian Centre for Business Growth.

There is no charge for participation in these programs but spaces are limited. Places will be allocated through Expressions of Interest and you are invited to complete a short application through the Export Council of Australia’s website.

Available development programs:

 1) Going Global online course

 If you are interested or just beginning to export, the Going Global online will guide your business through the export process using self-led modules on topics like selecting a market, financing for export success, international pricing strategy, building staff capacity for international growth and legal contracts and IP protection. There are 30 places available for WA agrifood companies in this course (valued at $540 per business).

 2) One on One export coaching

 The Export Council of Australia’s International Business Coaching is a one-on-one matching service that aligns the specific needs of an individual company who has already begun to export with the services of an international business subject expert. The coaching service can be tailored to cover a number subject areas like: Export planning and/or marketing strategy, export documentation and procedures, e-Commerce, navigating Free Trade Agreements, and shipping and freight procedures.

20 companies will be sponsored to receive this one-on-one coaching service, with each eligible company receiving 8 hours of coaching (valued at up to $2640 per business).

Companies that participate in this program will also receive a complimentary ECA Business Membership to access other information and support offerings, valid to 30 June 2018.
