If you’re a supermarket supplier with concerns about how you’re being treated contact ACCC

If you have concerns about how a supermarket is treating you, the ACCC is ready to listen.

The ACCC has recently issued a media release advising all suppliers to Coles, Woolworths and Aldi that they now have the full benefit of the Food & Grocery Code of Conduct.

Reports received by the ACCC suggest that a majority of suppliers have chosen to enter Code compliant grocery supply agreements (GSAs) with the supermarkets. If you are a supplier and you have not yet signed a new GSA, you still have protections provided by the Code which overlay your existing terms. However, you may not have the benefit of clarity of terms as you would if you signed a new GSA.

The Australian Food & Grocery Council has recently publicised the results of a survey that revealed a number of Code-related issues which continue to be raised by suppliers. We are continuing to monitor the compliance of supermarkets with the Code and encourage any suppliers who have concerns about their dealings with the supermarkets to raise them with us. You can contact us on 1300 302 502 or by submitting an enquiry form available at https://www.accc.gov.au/contact-us.
