On Monday, November 07, 2022, Minister Alannah MacTiernan advised the Premier that she would bring her Parliamentary career to an end before the Christmas period.
After 26 years of Parliamentary service with 13 years within the ministries of three Labour Governments, the Minister will take a step back and relinquish the high-pressure life of a Minister.
Premier Mark McGowan put out a media statement thanking the Minister for her dedication and commitment to the role and the Labour Government.
Premier Mark McGowan said that the Minister had been integral in rebuilding the State Government’s agricultural efforts and reinvigorating agricultural research and development in the State.
“Alannah has left an incredible mark on Western Australia over more than 30 years of serving our State. She has played a key role in delivering our Government’s agenda in the regions, refocusing regional investments towards diversification and job creation.” He said
“Her passion and work ethic are legendary – she has never met an issue too big or too small to tackle head-on. I thank Alannah for her service to our State and wish her the very best for the future.”
