Growers Unite | The Gingin Roadshow Wrap-Up
The vegetablesWA Gingin Roadshow was held in Gingin on Thursday, 13 August, bringing together growers from across the region for a valuable day of learning, discussion and networking. Delivered as part of vegetablesWA’s regional extension work through the VegNet 3.0 and APC VPC projects, the Roadshow showcased a diverse program of speakers covering some of the most relevant issues currently facing vegetable-growing businesses.
The day featured presentations from Henry Tan (WA Health Food Unit), Josh Tedjasaputra (WA Hub of AI), Dr SP Singh (NSW DPI), David Daniels (AusVeg), Jane Siebum (Freshcare) and Jackie Grayson (DPIRD). Topics ranged from food safety regulations and surveillance testing, to the practical application of artificial intelligence on-farm, emerging agrichemical challenges, Freshcare assurance programs and the ongoing management of Stable Fly. A panel discussion also provided growers with the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with industry experts, creating valuable conversations around compliance, productivity and future business opportunities.
The Roadshow gave growers, presenters and industry stakeholders the opportunity to connect face-to-face, share experiences and strengthen professional networks. The strong attendance and continued engagement throughout the day highlighted the value of bringing current industry information directly to regional production areas, ensuring growers have access to the latest knowledge, resources and support. Thanks again to those who attended, and we look forward to our next roadshows in 2027.
